CLASP is an international non-profit organization working to improve environmental and energy performance of appliances and related systems. They created an online street lighting evaluation tool to calculate street light design parameters.
The client wanted to update this tool with an additional method of calculation, VBA implementation of the formulas and greater choice of selection parameters.
We revamped the tool with VBA macros and implemented an additional method of calculating design parameters. The updated tool facilitates complex scientific calculations and provides more criteria to facilitate analysis. We also improved the user experience by adding functionality to illustrate the various street lighting configurations.
The upgraded tool equips users with more options and greater insight when designing street lighting. CLASP is now better positioned to reach its goals by influencing sustainable street light design initiatives.
