1. Introduction

Perceptive Analytics ("we," "us," or "our") operates Financial Summarizer Pro, a financial analysis tool that retrieves publicly available SEC filing data to generate executive-level financial summaries. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights with respect to that data.

By using Financial Summarizer Pro through the ChatGPT platform, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

2. Data we collect

2.1 Data you provide

The only input we request from you is a stock ticker symbol (e.g., "AAPL", "MSFT"). We do not ask for, collect, or process any personally identifiable information (PII) such as your name, email address, or financial account details.

2.2 Data we retrieve on your behalf

When you submit a ticker, our service retrieves the following publicly available data from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) EDGAR database:

• Annual reports (Form 10-K)
• Quarterly reports (Form 10-Q)

This data is publicly available and not personal to you. It relates solely to the publicly listed company you enquired about.

2.3 Technical and operational data

Our servers automatically log the following operational data to maintain service reliability and detect abuse:

• Ticker symbols queried (not linked to individual users)
• Tool name invoked and response time in milliseconds
• Anonymised error codes and failure types

3. How we use your data

We use the data described above solely for the following purposes:

• To retrieve and process SEC filing data in response to your ticker query
• To cache processed financial results to serve subsequent queries faster (cache TTL: 90 days)
• To monitor service health, detect errors, and prevent abuse
• To improve the accuracy and reliability of our financial extraction models

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to the financial analysis service.

4. Data storage and retention

4.1 Redis cache

Processed financial data (KPIs, revenue segments, trends) is stored in a Redis cache hosted on our secure server infrastructure. The cache key is the ticker symbol only — it is not linked to any user identifier. Cached data expires automatically after 90 days.

4.2 SEC filing text

Raw text extracted from SEC filings is temporarily stored in our cache to enable narrative generation tools (drivers and risks, industry insights). This text is sourced from public SEC EDGAR filings and contains no personal data. It is subject to the same 90-day TTL as other cached data.

4.3 Operational logs

Server operational logs are retained for a maximum of 30 days and then automatically deleted. Logs contain only anonymised operational metrics — tool name, response time, error type, and ticker queried.

5. Data sharing and recipients

We do not sell, rent, or trade your data. We share data only in the following limited circumstances:

• SEC EDGAR: We query their public API to retrieve filing data on your behalf. SEC EDGAR's own terms apply to this data.
• OpenAI API: We transmit SEC filing text and your ticker query to the OpenAI API for AI-powered financial extraction and narrative generation. No personal user data is transmitted — only the public filing content and the ticker symbol.
• Infrastructure providers: Our server and Redis cache are hosted on standard cloud infrastructure. Providers are contractually bound to process data only as instructed.
• Legal requirements: We may disclose data if required by law, court order, or to protect our legal rights.

6. Third-party services

Financial Summarizer Pro is delivered through the ChatGPT platform operated by OpenAI. Your use of ChatGPT is subject to OpenAI's own Privacy Policy and Terms of Use, which govern how OpenAI handles your conversation data. We encourage you to review OpenAI's policies at openai.com/policies.

7. Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights with respect to any personal data we hold:

• Access: Request confirmation of whether we hold any personal data about you
• Erasure: Request deletion of any personal data associated with you
• Objection: Object to processing of your data
• Portability: Request a copy of your data in a machine-readable format

Because we do not collect personal data linked to individual users, most of these rights may not be applicable in practice. Nevertheless, you may contact us at cs@perceptive-analytics.com with any privacy-related request and we will respond within 30 days.

8. Children's privacy

Financial Summarizer Pro is intended for general business and research use. We do not knowingly collect data from children under the age of 13. If you believe a child has provided information through our service, please contact us at cs@perceptive-analytics.com and we will take prompt action.

9. Security

We implement industry-standard technical and organisational measures to protect data processed by our service, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), access-controlled server infrastructure, and automatic cache expiry. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure; however, we take reasonable steps to protect data in our care.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this document. Continued use of Financial Summarizer Pro after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
